When the AquaCraft Miss Vegas was first released, those of us racing the boat here in the Northwest were happy with the way it was running “out of the box.” However, Russ Nachtweih, one of our more
innovative model boaters, thought the Miss Vegas would run even better with
an increase of the sponson’s angle of attack. Russ brought his Miss Vegas with
his sponson modification to a District 8 race and basically ran away from the
rest of us during the heats.
Since the sponson alteration developed by Russ was simply an “add on”
adjustment to the stock sponsons, I immediately upgraded the sponsons on
my Miss Vegas. The increased angle of attack frees up the boat, providing
