boats. I was having some fun. The Shock Wave 26 Brushless quickly proved it was a fast machine. It will please experienced guys and probably blow away RC boat newbies. Since it’s a fairly short 26 inches, it feels that much faster. Handling in the turns is great, but you either need to dial down the steering with the dual rate on the transmitter or have a disciplined, easy touch on the steering wheel. If you crank the wheel too hard, the boat
will spin out. The spins usually create a cool-
looking splash of water, but certainly aren’t the
fast way around the pond as the boat comes to
an abrupt stop. After running for a few minutes,
I checked for water inside the hull. I saw a few
very small drops, so I added a small piece of
absorbent towel hopefully to catch any water
that might sneak inside. I hit the water again and
ran until the pack was out of juice. When I had
the Shock Wave 26 Brushless back on
land, I quickly checked the motor temps
and found that the water jacket definitely
did its job. It was barely warm. Overall,
the Shock Wave 26 Brushless is a
competent performer. I can’t
decide if it’s a beginner
boat or one for RC
veterans. Maybe
it’s both.
